was the assistant director (retired ) of the Voice and Speech Clinic at the University of Connecticut Health Center and was also assistant professor at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in the department of surgery, division of otolaryngology. As an assistant professor for over 25 years, she evaluated and treated individuals with voice disorders in addition to providing lectures about voice and laryngeal dysfunction.
Starr is a trained mezzo-soprano with several years’ experience singing professional jazz. She combines her extensive clinical, teaching, and stage experience to bridge the gap between the science and art of voice.
